🔤 Alphabet letter tracing worksheets A–Z

Ages 4–6Letter formation · fine motor skillsBlack and white · US Letter or A4

One page per letter, with the uppercase and lowercase letter drawn large on handwriting lines. Numbered dots show where each stroke starts and small arrows show the direction, in a simple ball-and-stick print style. A picture that starts with the letter sits next to it (A is for apple). Below are five practice rows: trace the dotted letters, then write from the starting dots on your own.

Frequently asked questions

Which handwriting style is used?

A simple ball-and-stick manuscript: straight lines are pulled from top to bottom and left to right, and round letters like c, a, d, g and o go back around, counterclockwise. If your school uses a different program, compare the stroke order with your teacher’s guide.

Should my child learn uppercase or lowercase first?

Many classrooms start with uppercase because the lines are simpler, then move to lowercase, which children read more often. Each page has both, so you can focus on whichever you are working on.

How do the handwriting lines work?

The solid top line, dashed middle line and solid bottom line show letter height. Tall letters touch the top line, small letters stay under the dashed line, and letters like g, j, p, q and y drop below the bottom line.

Can I print the whole alphabet?

Yes. Choose “All letters A–Z” for 26 pages or download the ready-made PDF.
